When people come to Valley Life Center, they will find a place that is uniquely designed to express the core values of our church. Depending on your past experience, what we do may seem comfortingly similar, or strikingly different. It is important when considering a church to not only know what they do, but why they do it.

ere are a few questions that people have had over the years that may address some of these expressions.

What is the teaching like at this church?
No matter how complicated or profound the truth may be, a teacher's job is to make sense out of it so the students can understand and apply it to their daily lives in some practical manner. Simplicity, clarity, creativity, and relevance are some of the adjectives that we strive to describe our teaching. We try to avoid teaching that only some people would understand, or that would show off any high intellectual prowess on the part of the speaker. Changing lives, and not impressing minds is what we are striving to achieve.

Why do we sing?
It is our belief that God is supreme above all else. Not only that, but in that supremacy, He has chosen to reach out to us with a lavish love. When confronted with this love, the natural and rational reaction is to respond back. Our music on Sunday is designed to be that appropriate love response. The Bible gives clear examples of this response including singing, clapping, standing, kneeling, shouting, and playing various musical instruments. Our congregation strives to join together as a chorus of contemporary, relevant, and creative worshipers, giving to God the glory He is due.

Why do we belong to a denomination?
We are a "Foursquare" church, a term which means "up front, plain and simple." Our denomination spans the globe connecting over 80 countries. Everyone needs to belong to and submit to something larger than themselves, something broader than their own perspective, something more developed than their own experience, something with reminds them of their limitations, yet which serves them at the point of those limitations. As a church, our relationships with our denomination provides this needed context within which we can freely function.

Our denomination is not exclusive in it's perspective on doctrine or beliefs. Foursquare is interdenominational, which means that we value individuals and groups that may believe somewhat differently than we do within the confines of conservative Biblical teachings. Foursquare believes "in essentials, unity; in non- essentials, liberality."
